I am often asked why I entered into this business.  The three biggest reasons were my passion for gourmet food, my desire of being more part of the community, and to have an opportunity to “give back”.

I have always had an admiration that almost every U.S. gourmet retailer chain somehow gave back to charities and/or its community.  This simply is not visible in the same way in Ontario with many gourmet stores here.

Already in our first  8 months of operation, we have been fortunate to work with over 50 charitable organizations, and have given away over 50 gift baskets for silent auctions, prizes etc., as well as gift certificates and catered food.  This will of course continue. 

Also, 5% of all of our profits will be donated to local charitable organizations.  As we grow over the years, this commitment will remain.
